New York, NY — The Fedcap Group today announced that Apex Technical School has received regulatory approval to launch a second full-service branch campus at 210 East 43rd Street in Manhattan, significantly expanding access to high-demand workforce training in New York City. The Midtown location—previously operating only Apex’s electrical program—will officially open as a full branch campus in early 2026.
The new campus will continue to offer Apex’s electrical training program and will introduce culinary arts and custodial services training—creating new pathways into careers that are essential to New York City’s economy and infrastructure. The expansion reflects Fedcap’s broader strategy to connect education, workforce development, and economic opportunity under a unified model that delivers results for both individuals and employers.
“Expanding Apex into a full-service campus in Midtown Manhattan strengthens our ability to meet New York City’s most urgent workforce needs—while opening doors for individuals seeking stable, meaningful careers,” said Christine McMahon, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Fedcap Group. “Programs like custodial services are not only essential to meet growing demand—they are also direct pipelines into our social enterprise companies, creating paid training, transitional employment, and long-term career opportunities. This is what economic mobility looks like inaction.”
For Fedcap, the expansion represents more than geographic growth—it reinforces a talent-development strategy that aligns education with employment across the organization’s integrated platform, including its network of social enterprises and workforce programs.
“This new campus allows us to broaden our impact and scale the blueprint that has made Apex a leader in career-focused education for more than six decades,” said Steven Markowitz, President of Apex Technical School. “By adding culinary arts and custodial training alongside our proven electrical program, we’re expanding access in fields where demand is real and jobs are immediate. Students will gain practical skills, industry credentials, and direct access to employers who need trained workers now.”
The launch is part of The Fedcap Group’s education and workforce strategy to ensure that training aligns with labor-market demand, particularly in industries facing worker shortages. The Midtown campus will serve as a critical hub for New Yorkers seeking employment in growth sectors while advancing Fedcap’s commitment to access and economic mobility.
“This expansion reflects our belief that education must be tightly connected to employment,” said Jim Malatras, Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Education for The Fedcap Group. “At Apex, we don’t just train students—we prepare them for careers with real earning power. By embedding these programs into Fedcap’s employment ecosystem, including our social enterprises, we are building a true cradle-to-career model that creates opportunity at scale.”
With more than 60 years of experience preparing students for technical careers, Apex Technical School continues to evolve to meet the needs of both students and employers. The new campus will enable the school to serve additional New Yorkers annually, strengthening the city’s workforce while advancing Fedcap’s mission to break down barriers to economic mobility.
