Forward, Not Backward

August 11, 2021

We’re hard-wired for progress. At The Fedcap Group, we strive for forward momentum; we’re future-focused and always aiming for growth and innovation.

Our aim has long been to secure the economic wellbeing for those who are often left out. That mission drives us and sustains us. COVID has caused devastation to many who are in need of support and care: school-age children, Black Americans, isolated older adults, the working poor, those struggling with behavioral health challenges and more. The pandemic has caused a serious financial or emotional set-back for many of us; for some it has resulted in a blow from which recovery is not even possible. According to the CDC, drug overdose deaths increased 38% from the 12-month period leading up to June 2019 to the 12-month period leading up to May 2020.

As a nation we must move forward from these tragic and painful losses, even as we become increasingly gripped by a fourth wave of COVID. The Fedcap Group too must avoid shifting into reverse. Getting the vaccine is the surest way to avert further devastation. If we must also resume social distancing requirements and wearing masks, so be it. We will not go backwards.

The CDC recently warned that the delta variant sweeping the nation is as contagious as chickenpox. Some of us remember entire schools and neighborhoods becoming infected by one sick child back in the 60s. The variant also has a longer transmission window than the original COVID strain and some experts say it makes older people sicker, even if they’ve been fully vaccinated.

How does Fedcap maintain its future focus of economic wellbeing for all in the face of this new threat?

It’s obvious. We do it with a fully vaccinated workforce, resuming normal operations and embracing the future in which we drive economic wellbeing for those crippled by COVID or otherwise in need. It is incredibly important that we protect one another across our organization. We must move forward in a workplace protected against the alpha and delta strains of COVID, staffed with 100% fully vaccinated employees.

Currently, America has a pandemic of the unvaccinated, according to the CDC Director. For 99.99% of Americans fully vaccinated against COVID, there has not been a breakthrough case resulting in hospitalization or death. That is a compelling statistic if ever there was one.

Going forward I want employees to know that Fedcap leadership has done everything possible to ensure their safety. That means a fully vaccinated workforce; it also means there’s proof of vaccination status. The escalating risk of COVID variants requires nothing less. To move forward and avoid backsliding, all of us must get the shot and get back to work ensuring our mission is fulfilled!

We must not go backwards. Our communities’ most vulnerable are counting on us!

As always, I welcome your feedback.
