New York, NY, September 17, 2026 – Fedcap’s Apex Technical School has named chef Youngsun Lee as its newest Chef Instructor, furthering Apex’s effort to expand access to high-caliber, affordable culinary arts training in New York City. Beginning October 13, Chef Lee will lead the school’s new Culinary Arts class at Apex’s new full branch campus in Midtown Manhattan, bringing his culinary expertise and Michelin-starred restaurant experience to students training for careers in the culinary industry. Enrollment is open now.

The appointment reflects Fedcap’s commitment to advancing access and economic mobility: this caliber of culinary instruction, a top-of-the-line campus in Midtown Manhattan, and an affordable tuition model reflect the school’s standard for providing high-level value and accessibility to students of all backgrounds. Tuition sits at $16,500 before awarded scholarships and grants, making it the lowest-cost program in New York State. The program remains licensed by the NYS Education Department and nationally accredited by the ACCSC — established credentials that give students real standing with future employers and advance their economic mobility.

“I’m thrilled to begin this new venture at Apex’s Culinary Arts program,” said Youngsun Lee, Chef Instructor, Apex Technical School. “I’m honored to have a role in mentoring the next generation of culinary professionals, and I hope to pass on the knowledge I’ve gained from working in the kitchens of some of New York City’s top restaurants.”

Chef Lee’s career spans some of New York’s most elite kitchens, including Momofuku, Craft, and Michelin-starred Jean-Georges, as he joins an accomplished faculty of veteran chefs and advisors. Through hands-on mentorship, students will gain firsthand insight into the discipline and vision a long-lasting culinary career requires — a philosophy that reflects Apex’s commitment to pairing hands-on training with proven industry excellence.

Beyond the classroom, this growth reflects a larger strategy at Fedcap— developing programs for careers essential to New York City’s economy and facing immediate, growing demand for skilled workers. That preparation connects directly to The Fedcap Group’s wider push to embed education into its employment ecosystem, including its network of social enterprises that links graduates directly with employers.

“Bringing in an accomplished chef like Youngsun Lee to our culinary arts program is a testament to Fedcap and Apex’s missions,” said Steve Markowitz, President of Apex Technical School. “The school is committed to providing students with a strong pathway towards high-caliber culinary careers.”
